The Music Creation Lab is the result of research into creativity in music and is based on freedom as a driving force for creative development.

Through freedom of expression, we seek the essence of artistic creation by suspending patterns, techniques, and models adopted as references in musical learning. Without the weight of these models when they are suspended, a musical development potentialized by freedom of action is envisaged.

Participants who attend the workshop tend to be motivated by the revival of a musical naturalness intrinsic to them. This is a work opposed to traditional and technicist pedagogies, which tend to disregard the subjectivity of students, reducing curiosity, imagination, and discovery, as activities exclusively emphasize the learning of patterns and models ready for problem-solving. This musical creation workshop, on the contrary, seeks to enact a pedagogy of intuition, where participants broaden their creative perspectives, becoming more open to experimentation, creative imagination, insights, perception, sensitivity, self-expression, and, primarily, enhance self-confidence and motivation in their musical studies.

The laboratory is constantly being improved and is used as practice-based research, which allows for obtaining empirical data that contribute to the investigations carried out by this research group.
