PREPARATIONS FOR THE SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

The Research Group on Musical Creativity at the Federal University of Rio Grande recently held a collective meeting to coordinate schedules, introduce the "Publish or Perish" software, and clarify procedures for the systematic review in this study. This review will focus on empirical studies in sociology and anthropology. Its purpose is to examine the influence of various social structures on the formation of values and beliefs about creativity—such as family, religion, ideologies, and distinctions related to socioeconomic status, gender, ethnicity, and geography. By doing so, the review aims to highlight not only the patterns and similarities but also the unique features and contrasts relevant to the empirical data we plan to collect.

EDUCATIONAL ACTION

As the first action of the project, researcher Dr. Luciano Nazario will offer an online course titled Special Topics in Musical Creativity. In addition to the educational training provided by the course, we will promote this research to various educators and professionals in the field of music. The course will present the theoretical foundations of the Musical Creation Lab, a practice-based research activity that will be implemented at five universities in Brazil.
